The British Association for Immediate Care has it’s offices in central Ipswich

Tony Kemp MBE MStJ RN RNT MSc MA DipIMC,RCSEd FBASICS FHEA FAcadMEd joined the Association in February 2020 as it’s Chief Officer.
Tony is a nurse with a background in voluntary pre-hospital care (delivery and teaching) who joined us from academia most recently working as a senior lecturer in medical education and advanced practice following a varied career in international marketing, the third sector and the NHS. He has previously served as a trustee of the Association (2001-2019) including being chairman between 2015 and 2019. Tony was elected an inaugural Fellow of the Association in 2021.
Tony lives in Devon and enjoys being a grandfather to 4 little people.

Derek Eade PhD CPA joined the Association in Autumn 2019 as the Finance and Projects Manager.
Derek originally qualified MRCVS following his parent’s ambition. He worked initially in research undertaking a PhD (superovulation in pigs) before following his yearning for travel. Initially working as a seasonal travel representative whilst travelling inbetween he found himself in the USA. Here he decided to return to universtity to qualify as a CPA from Cornell before returning to the UK in the mid-seventies. He has since worked in finance across different sectors and comes to us with extensive senior management experience.
Derek lives in Suffolk with his wife and enjoys most sports as well as keeping fit. Derek works part-time Monday through Thursday.

Holly Satterthwaite LLB joined the Association in Spring 2023 as the Business Manager, Courses and Events.
Holly qualified LLB from the University of Nottingham before working within human resources and recruitment. In 2011 she moved into staff development for leading law firm Hogan Lovells International LLP leading on their in-house online learning platform as well as designing and facilitating a range of training events. Holly has a professional interest and qualifications in mentoring and coaching and most recently worked as a consultant in this area. She is a published author alongside her husband with a joint book entitled ‘Spiritual Detox’ published in 2021.
Holly lives in Suffolk with her husband and young family and she enjoys walking in the country, sewing (including many of her own clothes) and reading. Holly works part-time Monday through Thursday.

Tia Hursey joined the Association in January 2022 and works as the Finance and Projects Officer.
Tia came to us from a varied background which most recently included working for us as maternity cover for the membership and communications officer role. Prior to that Tia worked for her father’s waste disposal company where she ran the office as well as assisting in the onsite work having previously trained as a beautician and worked initially in retail providing in-shop beauty services.

Jemma Careswell joined the Association in January 2022 as part of the Courses and Events Team.
Jemma joined us from the NHS where she worked as a health care assistant in the operating theatres at Ipswich Hospital. She has a varied background across care and retail. She lives in Suffolk and is mum to a young daughter. Jemma works part-time for the Association on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Nancy Howlett joined the Association in October 2016 as the Membership & Communications Officer.
Nancy has worked in a variety of roles prior to joining the Association including volunteering as a Special Constable. With a background in administrative support, personnel & training, support work and working in the retail industry Nancy enjoys working in a public facing role supporting our members and the affiliated schemes.
Nancy lives in Suffolk with her partner and young son.
