Teaching the essential life and limb saving skills that are otherwise difficult to access in a safe training environment, the Cadaveric Pre-Hospital Skills Course includes:

  • Surgical airway;
  • Needle and finger thoracotomy;
  • Long limb fracture reduction and traction splintage;
  • Limb amputation;
  • Intra-osseous cannulation; and
  • Wound packing for haemostatic control.

The Cadaveric Pre-Hospital Skills course is open to registered health care practitioners* on the GMC (with a licence to practice), NMC or HCPC registers (or equivalent if practicing outside the UK) no matter what their pre-hospital practice environment(s). Serving military medics who are not HCPs (CMT, MA or RAF Medic) may also attend with the written approval of their command.

All attendees will have an equal opportunity to learn and practice the skills taught on the course.

* Associate practitioners are not eligible to attend this course.
