Howard hangs up his helmet

This morning marked the end of an era for Magpas Doctor and the first A&E Consultant at Addenbrooke’s Howard Sherriff. Today he officially retired from his role as Magpas trustee and former Magpas Doctor after 35 years volunteering with the lifesaving service. Dr Sherriff was presented with a farewell gift and a huge thank you for all the work he has put into Magpas.

Howard said, “I’m delighted to see where Magpas is today and to see such high standards of medical care. I’ve been proud to work with charity and I will always remember the team work at Magpas and with other emergency services”.

Howard from Landbeach inspired many other doctors in the region to come on board at Magpas. He then became Chairman of the charity and was instrumental in how the lifesaving service that Magpas provides has evolved over the years. Dr Sherriff was in the RAF when he joined Magpas in 1976. The supportive relationship between the RAF and Magpas continues with RAF doctors working with Magpas today.
