EMICS at Parkway Station crash
A volunteer emergency doctor from East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme (EMICS) attended an road traffic incident near East Midlands Parkway station at 10.30 pm last evening (Sunday 27th November) involving a 2 cars.
EMICS doctor Nick Foster, who is a general practitioner in practice at Kegworth and one of the most experienced doctors in EMICS, attended the collision which occurred on the A453 near to the station.
The collision involved 5 casualties including a child. One female aged about 25 years trapped in an overturned car. She had sustained multiple injuries and was in a life critical condition She was treated at the scene by the EMICS doctor and transferred to the Nottingham University Hospital accompanied by Dr Foster and ambulance crew of the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) where she underwent immediate surgery.
