BBC attends 7 vehicle crash

A serious RTC involving seven vehicles including 2 HGVs occurred on the A1 Southbound at the A6121 near Stamford on the evening of 16th December 2011. A LIVES team comprising Dr Kiki Steel and Tim Nuttall attended the incident in support of the East of England Ambulance Service.

3 casualties were transported to Peterborough Hospital, two suffering critical injuries. Dr Steel, who accompanied one of the patients to hospital, said; “This was a complex incident and all personnel on scene worked together to provide optimal care to the casualties”.

A film crew was shadowing the LIVES team for a BBC documentary piece promoting the work of BASICS and LIVES.
