Stabbing at Saffron Walden

The Ambulance crew at the scene requested urgent assistance from the Magpas team after a man had been stabbed in Saffron Walden.

Magpas’ Helimedix Dr Fiona Bowles and Volunteer Paramedic Simon Standen were taken to the scene by the Magpas and Police Helicopter at 10pm.

The Helimedix then performed essential A&E care to stop the bleeding. They stabilised him and then escorted him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a land ambulance - his condition was described as serious but stable. On arrival, the patient was met by a trauma team led by The Emergency Department Consultant and also Magpas Doctor Chris Adcock.
