Cliff Collapse Freshwater Beach Holiday Park, Bridport, Dorset

24th July 2012 

Shortly after 1230 today a large section of cliff collapsed leaving a 22 year old girl trapped and another person injured. South Western Ambulance Service, Dorset Fire and Rescue, Devon and Somerset Urban Search and Rescue and the Coastguard are all in attendance. 

Dr Krasucki a voluntary doctor with BASICS South West has been in attendance at the incident since quarter past one today. He remains on scene this evening providing medical advice and support, as there are indications that the casualty was alive after the collapse. In addition expert advice has been provided by other members of the BASICS South West Team and colleagues nationally.

Unfortunately at 22:00 the body of Charlotte Blackman was recovered from the landslide. BASICS South West would like to thank the numerous medical experts who provided advice and support during this incident.
