Busy weekend for MAGPAS
Newmarket Motorcross Incident
The Magpas Helimedix team (Dr Anne Booth and Volunteer Paramedic Simon Standen) arrived at the scene in Newmarket at 12:15 on Saturday afternoon (14th January).
A man in his early 20's suffered severe chest and lung injuries after a motor cross incident. The Magpas team gave the him critical A&E level care and then escorted the patient (in a land ambulance) to West Suffolk Hospital. On arrival, his condition was described as stable.
Cambridgeshire motor bike collision
At 12:48pm yesterday (15th January), the Magpas Helimedix team (Doctor David Bevan and Volunteer Paramedic Simon Standen) arrived at Mepal, to treat a man in his 30’s who was involved in a motor bike collision. Tragically, the patient died despite the best efforts of the Magpas team and all emergency services on scene.
Chatteris man falls through ceiling
The same Magpas Helimedix team were then called to a residential address in Chatteris at 4pm, after a man fell through the ceiling and then down some stairs. The patient, who suffered severe leg injuries, was given A&E level care by the Magpas team. He was then accompanied by the Helimedix to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, on arrival his condition was serious but stable.
