A1 crash victim gets A1 care

Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Darren Reid and Volunteer Paramedic Adam Carr) flew to the A1 northbound, north of Peterborough in the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance yesterday afternoon (1st), after one car and two men (who were travelling in the vehicle) were involved in a road traffic collision.

The Magpas team arrived at the scene at 14:30 and treated a male patient (in his 20’s) who suffered a head injury. They anaesthetised him and provided him with essential A&E level care. The Magpas team then flew the man to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, monitoring his condition all the way. On arrival at the hospital, he was in a critical but stable condition. (The EEAST Ambulance Crew on the scene escorted the second man to Peterborough City Hospital).
