A38 HEAD ON CRASH FOR SAVES DOCTORS

 

The incident occurred on the 1st March at 18:42 on the A38 near Thurloxton. Two cars were involved, each with a single occupant. Both occupants were entrapped. The female driver was treated for head injuries and was ventilated at the scene. The male driver had a suspected broken leg, chest and abdominal injuries and was given morphine to allow extrication on a spinal board. Both patients were transported by land to Musgrove Park Hospital. 

Drs Hickman, Krasucki and Ford were in attendance alongside paramedics, the fire service and police. Three doctors were in attendance as they had been attending a clinical meeting at Taunton Ambulance HQ when the incident occurred.
