Teenager in Quad Bike Vs Van Incident in Cambridge
Magpas Helimedix (Dr Ali Tompkins and Volunteer Paramedic Mark Milson) arrived at the scene of a serious accident involving a quad bike and a van at 8:48pm last night (1st September). A 19 year old man on the quad bike had collided with a van, fell off the bike and landed under a hedge. He suffered serious head, chest and limb injuries.
Three Ambulance Service Technicians, the Police and Fire Services were also there. The teams worked together to get the patient out from under the hedge. The Helimedix then performed essential A&E care, they anaesthetised him, stabilised him and escorted the young man to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a land ambulance - his condition was described as critical. On arrival, the patient was met by a trauma team led by The Emergency Department Consultant.
