Coach crash in Peterborough

A coach that was travelling on the Fletton Parkway in Peterborough has crashed into the central reservation with 30 people on board.

The Helimedix team flew to the incident today at 1.45pm by Magpas and police helicopter. When they arrived on scene they assessed a 50 year old man, who was successfully resuscitated. They gave special drug therapy to maintain his blood pressure and continued to treat him, whilst escorting him to Peterborough City Hospital  by land ambulance - where on arrival his condition was described as serious but stable.

Fortunately it is understood that the 30 people on board the coach had only suffered minor injuries and there were no other vehicles involved.

Dr Emma Rowland and paramedic Ryan Warwick were the Helimedix team in attendance.

Ryan Warwick said “We complimented the excellent work that was already being done by the ambulance crew on scene before we arrived, all the emergency services worked extremely well together.”

Also in attendance were fire, police and ambulance crew.
