Bedford man benefits from MAGPAS

On Monday night (4th July) at 8.40pm, the Magpas Helimedix arrived at River Field Drive, Bedford (A428). The team had been called to a pedestrian who had stepped out in front of a car on a busy dual carriageway.

A middle-aged man suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. The Helimedix (Magpas Dr James French and Volunteer Paramedic Mr Ryan Warwick), provided A&E level care at the scene and they anaesthetised him, before he was transferred to the region’s Neurosurgical Centre at Addenbrookes Hospital (accompanied by the Helimedix). On arrival his condition was described as stable but critical.
