BASICS NW & GNAAS at drowning
Dr Theo Weston of BASICS NW attended a drowning incident canoeist on the river Eamont near Penrith on Sunday. Along with a score of Fire Service personnel, the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team, land ambulances and the Great North Air Ambulance Service helicopter; they attempted to resuscitate the 24yr old canoe instructor, continuing CPR all the way to the Royal Victoria Infirmary but sadly he didn’t survive. He was part of a 15 strong group of 4 instructors and 11 youngsters from the Patterdale Hall outdoor centre.
