Head injury needs BASICS doc at Fakenham market place

 When a male in his early 60 collapsed with a head injury in the Market Place at Fakenham around 2pm today a BASICS doctor from the MAGPAS Helimedix team was requested to attend the incident and they were taken rapidly  by the East Anglian Air Ambulance.  The Helimedix Team in attendance was Magpas Volunteer Consultant Dr Simon Lewis, with East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) Critical Care paramedic Gary Spitzer. Also in attendance was Anglia one from Norfolk piloted by Neil Waller with East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) Critical Care paramedics Andrew Downes and Neil Flowers, Ambulance and Police were also in attendance. The patient was assessed, his airway was secured and the team performed a Rapid Sequence Intubation at the scene.  The patient was escorted by the Helimedix Team to the region’s specialist trauma centre Addenbrookes Hospital by air. His condition was serious.
