27.11.2010 Cyclist fatally injured

A cyclist has been fatally injured after an incident in Birmingham last night.

The incident occurred on Sutton New Road, Erdington at around 9.10pm.  An Ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and a BASICS Doctor attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival at the scene, crews found a car and a cyclist that had been in a serious collision.

“The man riding the bicycle had suffered multiple serious injuries.  Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

“No other person was injured in the crash.”
