08.12.10 Man dies when crane falls into river

At 09:40 on 8th December the Magpas Helimedix team were requested to attend an incident at Brangehill Lane, Mepal, Nr Ely.  In attendance were Magpas’ Dr Anne Booth and volunteer paramedic Dan Cody. The Helimedix team went rapidly to the scene by the Magpas Air Ambulance.

Details – Crane into ditch, driver submerged and trapped. Magpas’ Helimedix team along with the other emergency services attempted to free the patient.  

Dr Anne Booth said “Despite all the efforts made by the emergency services on scene sadly the driver died. This was an extremely upsetting incident for all involved. Our condolences are with the family.”
