Med-ALERT doctor attends M6 crash on Christmas Day

Dr Dave Highley, a Consultant Anaesthetist, and Med-ALERT team member had his Christmas Day interrupted when he was called to a serious accident that occurred on black ice. Two Asian men died after their car veered off the motorway and crashed into some trees on Christmas Day.

Police said the Vauxhall Corsa had been travelling southbound on the M6 and crashed into some trees before overturning between junctions 35 and 34 around 7.45pm on Christmas Day.

A man in the car appeared to have been ejected from the vehicle and was taken to Lancaster hospital with serious injuries. An elderly couple in another vehicle escaped with only seatbelt injuries.
