10.12.09 - Busy day for BASICS Cornwall
BASICS Cornwall was called to a number of Road Traffic Collisions today.
At 8:50am Dr Scott-Hayward was asked to attend a road traffic collision on the A393 near Ponsanooth. A car and a van had been in collision. Two people, one of them a child, was trapped in the vehicle. We worked alongside the fire and ambulance service to treat and free them form the car. They were both transported to the royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro for further treatment.
A 12:50pm we were again asked by South Western Ambulance Service to attend a collision involving a van and a motorcycle. The collision occurred on the busy A390 near Probus. Both Dr Scott-Hayward and Dr Mawer were close by and attended. Luckily the motorcyclist had non life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Royal Cornwall Hospital Truro for further assessment.
