August 2009 - BASICS in Barnstaple at crash 12.08.09

Dr Stephen Myers, an Executive member of BASICS attended a serious road traffic collision at 13:29 today at Barn Henge squareabout, Barnstaple. A collision between a motorcycle and a lorry resulted in resuscitation being required on scene. The casualty, critically injured was transported to North Devon District hospital, Barnstaple with the doctor in attendance. Unfortunately despite his efforts the casualty died from his injuries. 

The location is considered locally to be a difficult area for cyclists and motorcyclists and gave rise to substantial comment on the local newspaper website.
