What BASICS offers Part 2
one page just wasn't enough!
BASICS e-LEARNING
This is a new website and so we have cheated here a bit. Len Watson from ResQMed was kind enough to let us have one of his modules and we have inserted links to quite a few other sites that offer on-line prehospital e-learning. Never fear however as we will be producing our own modules and will get them up and running in the near future. Its just that Rome wasn't built in a day....
TRAINING & CONFERENCE DISCOUNTS

Not only does BASICS Education give discounts to BASICS members who book on courses but there is also a discount on the BASICS Conference package. The Conference not only allows you the opportunity to listen to some of the world's leading experts in their fields but also allows you the opportunity to practice skills in the break-out sessions. Possibly the most important part of the Conference however is not the formal dinner or the presentation of the Awards, or even the Annual General Meeting, it is the opportunity for you to talk to colleagues with the same values as yourself. You will find Professors chatting to Oil Rig medics and ambulance technicians talking to Ambulance Chief Executives. We are all equal members of the same human family, and our experiences of seeing people at their most vulnerable in accidents and medical emergencies reminds us all of this.
BASICS CPD
This is one of the greatest innovations of the site! With the increasing emphasis on reappraisal, revalidation, accreditation and clinical governance we are proud to offer to BASICS members the opportunity to use our powerful CPD system. You can use the calendar to book your training, you can log both your in hospital and prehospital clinical experience and to use the logbook (either in conjunction with the BeRF or not) to record the work you do. This can provide you with a valuable document with which you can record the development of your career in Prehospital Emergency Care. The access is free of charge for Accredited Members and Student Members. Otherwise, you can buy a year access in the shop for £10.00
THE EMERGENCY MEDICINE JOURNAL
The Emergency Medicine Journal is not entirely prehospital in content. However this very interesting read is about the situations we face in the prehospital environment. It is all trauma or emergency medicine and has a large chunk that is entirely Immediate Care. Members geta discount on taking the journal either in its electronic form or as a paper version that lands on the door mat and gets read in the loo....
You mean I'm the ONLY person who does that?
